Jean-Patrick Toussaint is a biologist by training, with a PhD in environmental sciences. His career path has taken him from academic research to working with national and international environmental non-governmental organizations. Currently working at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) as Senior Advisor on Francophone Affairs, he has also overseen a portfolio of climate mitigation and adaptation projects as Capacity Building Advisor under the Municipality for Climate Innovation Program. Prior to joining FCM, he worked at Future Earth as a Science Officer, as well as a Science Project Manager at the David Suzuki Foundation. Jean-Patrick has been a columnist on environmental files at Québec Science since 2019 and currently sits on Ouranos adaptation priority committee on living environments, as well as being part of the Executive Committee of CIRANO’s change incubator, Avant Garde.
